Last Friday, I attended the Friday Night Local Music event held at Evelyn's park. I was there for my internship with Mr. Gregg, a parent at the school who started Local Music. Local Music holds small live music venues featuring local bands from the Houston area. There is also an annual Local Music Festival which is a larger event that spans over the course of one weekend in the fall. My task on the day that I attended was to help Mr. Gregg as well as the park staff to set up the equipment that the bands would use for their performances. My fellow intern and I set up a time to come, helped the bands get their equipment out onto the stage, and took videos of the performances so we could use them for promoting the venue. We also created and sent out contracts and arranged stipends for each band that was playing. We are doing the same for the next Friday Night Local Music event.
