For my CAS project, I decided that I would like to document my January term. The term that I will be documenting is the documentary film-making term taught by Ms. Harrison. Since she has been teaching the IB film class, she has had a lot of experience with making films and is very knowledgeable about what goes into creating a documentary film. I am quite excited to begin participating in this course next week since film-making has been something I have wanted to try for a long time. From hearing about what some of my friends have done in their IB filmmaking classes and also helping a few of them to create their own film assignments, I had started to think about exploring filmmaking on my own. When I saw that documentary filmmaking was one of the options for this year’s January term, I knew I wanted to sign up. I hope that I can bring something useful to the table with my experience with audio equipment and adobe premiere. Although I have never worked with film audio equipment, I believe that I will be able to use my knowledge of studio audio equipment to my advantage in the filmmaking progress. Maybe after taking this course, I could start to create my own films for skateboarding or look into studying film in college.
